Biography
Ian Deans’ skiing journey took shape when his family moved to Big White Ski Resort while he was in grade five. Suddenly skiing became part of everyday life, from riding to school with a backpack to spending gym class on the slopes. What started as ski racing with friends eventually led him to the Canadian World Cup Ski Cross Team and a spot as an Olympic alternate. Today, Ian’s connection to skiing goes beyond competition. For him, the mountains are where everything slows down and the noise fades. Through riding and storytelling, he’s focused on sharing that feeling and showing others that skiing can be something anyone can explore.
“I want to bring people skiing with me and show them that there’s a path if they want to explore it themselves.”– Ian Deans
